The village will glisten, glitter and shine when the third annual “Christmas in Cardington” takes place Thursday, December 10.

From 5 to 9 pm the village will be turned into a Christmas Wonderland with festivities and holiday events taking place in every corner.

The shelter house in the Community Park, with new lighting, will be the site of Dayton resident Ramone, to display his expertise with Ice Sculpting. Hot chocolate will be served there.

Lori Cardiff will greet youngsters at the log cabin in the park and Tim Maceyko will also be at the site with his newly authored book “Snuggle Time.”

The Live Nativity personnel will proceed by foot up Park Avenue to the park and after the Christmas tree is lighted they will portray the Nativity Scene at the corner of Park Avenue and Second Street.

The Post office will be accepting letters to Santa Claus and all businesses will be holding open houses.

The CIC owned building on East Main Street (former Upper Room home) will offer several inside vendors and will be collecting food for the Food Pantry.

The Cardington Library will oversee cookie decorating and the making of pictures for ornaments. Chester Arbor of the Gleaners Insurance Society will give away popcorn from the Cardington Market. There will be a coloring contest at the Home and Auto Store and Mathews Service Station will hold an open house. The Rotary Club building will host several vendorsand a bazaar. Suzee Q’s will offer ornament decorating at her West Main Street business.

The American Legion Post Home will have a soup supper and otheractivities including musical groups. There will be other musical groups performing and Santa Claus will be taking orders at the Fire House.

There are many, many more events and activities including horse drawn wagon rides around the village.

This evening is sponsored and organized by Friends of Cardington.
