COLUMBUS – Today, Generation Opportunity Ohio delivered over 1,000 petitions in support of H.B. 237 to Sen. Frank LaRose, chairman of the State and Local Government Committee. This bill would provide uniform, statewide standards that would protect ridesharing services from additional local regulations.

Generation Opportunity Ohio State Director Alex Goodman issued the following statement:

“Statewide standards for ridesharing will make it easier for services like Uber and Lyft to operate, offering a competitive and more affordable alternative to taxi cabs while creating jobs for young Ohioans. Uber plans to hire 10,000 drivers in the state next year, and the legislature should not stand in the way of that effort. Generation Opportunity encourages the State and Local Government Committee to approve HB. 237 and send it to the Senate floor for a vote.”

Generation Opportunity is a national, nonpartisan organization advocating for economic opportunity for young people through less government and more freedom.
