Mount Vernon Nazarene University’s theatre program, MVNU Theatre, presents the Tony award-winning musical “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.” Based on the comic strip Peanuts by Charles M. Schulz, this perennial favorite was originally written by Clark Gesner in 1967. In 1998, the production was updated for a modern audience by Michael Mayer (additional dialogue) and Andrew Lippa (additional music and lyrics). In 1999, the show received a Tony nomination for Best Revival of a Musical, and stars Roger Bart and Kristin Chenoweth won Tony awards for Best Featured Actor/Actress in a Musical. Cast recordings for both productions were Grammy nominated for Best Musical Show Album.

Performances will be on Thursday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, April 16, at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All performances are in Thorne Performance Hall inside the R.R. Hodges Chapel Auditorium on the campus of MVNU.
