Darlene Wallace served as the fiscal officer with the Glendale Union Cemetery Board for 30 years, retiring December 31, 2015.

She was given recognition of those years of service when the board members presented her with a granite plaque on which her photo was engraved along with her years of service.

She began the job on January 1, 1986 upon the retirement of the late Erma Denton.

“It was a joy and pleasure to work with Darlene,” said Doug Heacock, chairman of the board who represents the Cardington Township. “She kept accurate and detailed records for the cemetery that helped it function in a most efficient way. We will miss her smile and positive attitude.”

Other board members are Scott Carsner, at-large; and Jim Morris, representing Cardington Village. Vickie Ullom was named to the fiscal officer position on January 1, 2016. Cemetery sexton is Chris Robinson and assistant sexton is Susan Gallagher-Hornung.

Wallace thanked them for the recognition. A luncheon was served by the group in her honor.
