On April 2, 2014 at approximately 1230 hours, the Ohio State Highway Patrol contacted the METRICH Enforcement Unit requesting assistance with a drug investigation. During the investigation, METRICH detectives drafted a search warrant, which was signed by the Honorable Judge Ault. The METRICH Enforcement Unit executed the search warrant at the Super 8 motel located at 2425 Interstate Circle, Mansfield, Ohio. Detectives searched room 225.
During the search, detectives located and seized approximately 105 grams of suspected heroin, $7,100.00 in U.S. currency and a Ruger .357 Caliber revolver. The heroin has an estimated street value of $15,750.00. During the course of the investigation, detectives charged Lorne A. Brewer with Possession of Heroin and Having Weapons While under Disability. He was incarcerated at the Richland County Jail.
Sgt. J.D. Petrycki stated this successful investigation is a result of collaboration between different agencies and credits the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Criminal Patrol Unit for their work and cooperation. While two different agencies worked this case, we both have the same goal of removing drugs and weapons from the streets of Richland County, Ohio.
