Awards were given to athletes who participated in football, cross country, volleyball, golf and cheerleading when the Cardington-Lincoln High School Fall Sports Awards program was held Sunday, Nov. 12, at the high school.

Emcee of the program was Bill Clauss, Athletic Director. Coaches of each sport made the awards.

Football coach Beau Wolford named Daniel Kill, Player of the Year; Tyler Villella, Leadership Award; Jay Battrell, Most Improved; Skyler Streich, the Red and Black Award and Deven Speck, the Dog Soldier Award.

Coach Erik Kyrk gave the following awards to cross country girls: Alicia McElwee, Most Valuable; Maddie Brehm and Marlo Young, Most Improved; and Taylor Linkous received the Pirate Award.

Kyrk awarded the following cross country boys: Mason White, Most Valuable; Racine Hallabrin and Kaleb Meade, Most Improved and Spencer Benson, the Pirate Award.

Volleyball awards were given by coach Amanda Allen to Paige Clinger, MVP; Maci Morgan, Defensive Player of the Year; Hannah Wickline, Offensive Player of the Year; Sydney Spires, Most Improved and Aubrey Curtis received the Pirate Award.

Coach Troy King gave the following golf awards: Danny Vaught, Most Improved; Logan Doubikin, Most Valuable and Sage Brannon, Pirate Award.

Cheer awards were given by Coach Lori Vance to Aleigha Parsons, Outstanding Leadership; Lilly Grooms, Outstanding Showmanship; Sydney Vaught, Pirate Award; Grace Struck, Most Spirited and Laney Sherbourne, Most Spirited.

The following Athletic Department Awards were announced: Sage Brannon, 50 points; Alicia McElwee and Rylie Partlow, each 38 points; Quinn Maceyko, Lilly Grooms, Tyler Villella, Kendall Spires, Jordan Deskins, Paige Clinger and Spencer Benson, each 25 points and earning 12 points are Ashlee Drury, Paige Chalfant, Laney Sherbourne, Cade Ruehrmund, Maci Morgan and Casey Bertke.

Cross country coach Erik Kyrk, who is retiring, was given a recognition plaque for serving as coach of this sport for 25 years.

The awards program was preceded by a dessert potluck.
