The question of whether charges against Cory Jackson will be dropped will not be answered until next week.

The hearing scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17 was stopped before it could start: everyone was there except Judge Howard Hall, who called Bailiff Chris Miranda to report he was sitting behind a train that was stopped on the tracks in Edison, west of Mt. Gilead. At about 2:35 p.m., the hearing was postponed until next Friday at 2:00 p.m.

Defense attorneys S. Michael Lear and Larry Zukerman request that all charges against their client be dismissed. The team detailed their complaints in a hearing held January 8, 2014 in Morrow County Common Pleas Court, and Judge Hall was to have rendered his decision January 17.

If charges stand, a two-week trial is scheduled to begin February 18, 2014 at 9 a.m.
