March is set to ‘go out like a lion’ in Morrow County.

A winter storm warning is in effect from noon today to 2 am Sunday For Richland-Ashland-Morrow counties.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a winter storm warning for heavy snow which is in effect from noon today to 2 am Sunday.

Low pressure will track across the lower Ohio Valley today. Colder air will move into the area from the north. A mixture of rain and snow will change to all snow. The best chance for temperatures that are cold enough for the snow to accumulate and heavier snow would seem to be from north central Ohio across northeast Ohio and northwest Pennsylvania. The exact track of the low and the temperature at each location will ultimately determine how much snow falls.

* snow accumulations…5-8 inches by late Saturday night.

* rain and snow will change to all snow this afternoon.

* the most intense snow will be this afternoon and early this evening.

* the snow will taper off tonight.

* impacts…roads will become snow covered during the heavier snow. As temperatures drop late this afternoon and evening there will be a greater likelihood of icy or snow covered roads.
