Tuesday, May 20, 2014 - 4:00 p.m. – A two-vehicle accident sent a motorcycle rider to the hospital this morning.

Witness said an eastbound motorcycle on State Route 229 encountered a westbound semi going slowly through the traffic signal at State Route 61. A Chrysler minivan was behind the semi and tried to turn left before being able to see clearly around the truck, striking the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike, treated by Morrow County EMS and airlifted to an unknown hospital. Witnesses said the rider was conscious and talking at the scene.

Responding to the accident was Morrow County EMS, the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, the Ohio State Patrol and Big Walnut Fire District responders.

This is preliminary information which we will update when we can obtain the report from the State Patrol.
