UPDATE 07.01.14 - 11:30 a.m. - Mt. Gilead Post 59 of the Ohio State Patrol continues to investigate a collision that took the lives of a local couple Monday, June 30, 2014.


Kenneth Bush, 68, of Edison and his wife Elizabeth, 65, died from injuries resulting from an 8:16 p.m. accident on State Route 95 at their home.


The Highway Patrol reports Mr. Bush was operating a 2013 Kubota ATV southbound across State Route 95 and drove into the path of an eastbound 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Jeffrey Bunker, 42, of Mt. Gilead. The ATV was struck head on and Mr. and Mrs. Bush were ejected from their vehicle.


Both were flown to OSU Hospital in Columbus where they later passed away. Mr. Bunker was transported to Morrow County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.


Both lanes of State Route 95 were closed for approximately an hour.


Responding to the scene were multiple units from the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, Engine 15 and Rescue 11 from Mount Gilead Fire Department, multiple units from Morrow County EMS, two units from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Med Flight and Air Evac Lifeteam.
