Dear Editor,

I have so much to be thankful for today. Tuesday, the Cardington Community Food Pantry received two donations. Pam Miranda R.N., who teaches at Tri-Rivers, gave the Pantry paper products and hygiene items that the students and staff at Tri-Rivers Career Center had donated. McKenzie Smith donated food from her FFA service project, “Fill the Ford” that was held at the home Cardington-Highland game. Our students and their teachers care a lot about the people in their community. A big surprise was a donation from the Jenkins Vaughan Post 97 American Legion. Post 97 supports so many great causes. I was honored that they continued their support to the Cardington Community Pantry this year at the holidays. We serve all of the Cardington-Lincoln School District and all of Morrow County.

Jean Smith, President

PS - We have formed a Board this year to direct the operations of the pantry. Six Cardington area churches are represented. We distribute pantry products on the Third Thursday of every month from 5PM-6:30PM. Produce is distributed on the Fourth Friday from 11AM-12PM. The location remains at Cardington First United Methodist Church. We are averaging serving 163 families each month.
