Before beating Mount Gilead Saturday, the Northmor Lady Knights already were having a good week, as they topped Lucas and Colonel Crawford in non-league contests.

On Tuesday, Northmor beat Lucas 46-20. No further information was available.

They then topped host Colonel Crawford 60-51 on Thursday, outscoring them in three of the four quarters.

The Lady Knights led 13-9 after the first quarter and 31-25 at the half. After both teams scored nine in the third quarter, Northmor took the fourth by a 20-17 margin to put the finishing touches on their win.

Allie Tupps led the Knights with 20 ponts, while Kyndall Williams added 11 points and eight boards.

Cardington Pirates

After a slow start, the Cardington Lady Pirates rallied to top East Knox at home last Monday by a 40-27 score.

The Pirates trailed 7-2 after the first quarter, but outscored their opponents 10-2 in the second to take a three-point lead into the half.

Then, they took the third quarter by a 14-11 margin and the fourth by a 14-7 score to pull away for the win.

Alyson Adams scored 12 to lead Cardington, while Allysen Smith had 11, Kirsten Dever finished with nine and Kaitlyn Kavanaugh tallied eight.

Cardington would not be able to add to a two-game win streak on Thursday, though, as host Ridgedale rode a strong second quarter to a 44-33 conference win.

The Rockets led 9-6 after the opening period and 22-10 at the intermission in the game. While Cardington outscored their hosts 23-22 in the second half, they were unable to make up that deficit.

Smith paced the team with 12 points in the contest.

Cardington also lost to Centerburg by a 61-25 margin on Saturday, as the Trojans pulled away throughout the contest.

The score was 17-10 in favor of Centerburg after the opening period. The Trojans then took the second period 18-7, the third by a 19-8 margin and the fourth by a 7-0 score.

Jane Perry and Kaitlyn Kavanaugh both scored seven points to lead the Pirates.

Highland Scots

The Lady Scots of Highland were outscored in all four quarters at Mount Vernon last Tuesday in a 59-21 loss.

The Yellow Jackets led 14-5 after one period of play and outscored the locals 22-5 in the second quarter, 10-5 in the third and 13-6 in the fourth to continue pulling away.

Paige Cole tallied 10 points to lead Highland.

Offense was still in short supply on Thursday when the Scots hosted Fredericktown in what became a 46-16 win by the Freddies.

Highland trailed 13-2 after the first quarter and 28-6 at the half in the game. The Freddies took both the third and fourth quarters by a 9-5 margin to put the finishing touch on their win.

Lexi Winkelfoos scored four points to lead the team in scoring.

Highland then lost 49-32 to Ridgedale on Saturday. No further information was available by deadline.

Mount Gilead Indians

Two days before their contest at Northmor, Mount Gilead ran into a buzzsaw at home against Blue Division leaders Centerburg by a 98-14 margin.

The Trojans led 19-8 after the opening period and added to their lead in each of the three remaining periods.

Selina Mulkey finished with seven points to top the Indians.
