The Morrow County Genealogical Society will meet on March 22nd, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Gilead Library Annex Meeting room.

Our speaker will be Stan Sipe. Stan researches Morrow County History and is an expert in this area. His topic will be about Morrow County Schools: their beginnings, one room schools and their locations and history to present. The public in invited to attend our regular meetings.

The chapter has just completed a new “large” book about 1848 Land Transfers. The saying from “Four came One” shows our county was taken from parts of Delaware, Knox, Marion and Richland counties.

Hank Cradduck has photographed each page from the original transfer book. This book shows Transferors and Transferees names.

Over a year in it’s making to the competed product. Additional pages have been added showing 1848 map; sections and ranges; locations, transcriptions, history etc for a person to use in their research. This book gives names from all “Four” Counties to the newly created Morrow County in 1848.

This can be purchased in Mt. Gilead Genealogy Library manned by the Chapter or visit our website for order form and description.
