Guest speaker Dr. Ariel Silva described his new position with the Morrow County Hospital’s Primary Care Center when he spoke to Cardington senior citizens during their meeting held March 28 at the Seniors on Center, Mount Gilead.

Dr. Silva said he is currently seeing patients at the Primary Care Center located in Cardington and when the new Cardinal Primary Care Center opens in June he will also see patients there. His specialty is family practice and he is accepting new patients.

Giving the devotions was Pastor Gary Lamb-Hart based on John:4. This was when Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well. The pastor talked of when we really want a new item and get it we are very focused on it. This decreases over time and eventually little time is spent dealing with the item. He encouraged his listeners to accept what God is giving us and we would never be in want.

The program was presented by Cardington resident Margie Bowman and she has a strong background in theater, having majored in theater in college. She prefers comedy roles and has performed in many plays.

After being away from the theater for awhile, she auditioned for the Palace Theater production of “Joseph and his Technicolor DreamCoat” and she was given a role.

She is currently part of the musical comedy cast of “Bingo,” that was presented at the Palace Theater April 4, 5, and 6th. She concluded by singing two songs from that production.

Birthday wishes were sung to Patti Umbrulbee and Carolyn Poorman.

The seniors enjoyed a lunch of Fish Almondine that was catered by Morrow County Hospital.

The pledge of allegiance was led by vice president Pam Keckler.

The next meeting of the seniors will be held Friday, April 25, at noon at the Senior Center. The meal will be catered by the hospital. The menu will include turkey with dressing, corn, roll and banana cream pie. Cost is $5. Reservations should be called to Seniors on Center by Monday, April 21, but will be accepted until noon April 24. Call 419-946-4191.

The reservation must be honored unless it is canceled by noon on Thursday, April 24.
