TOPS # OH 1597, which meets Monday evenings at Trinity United Methodist Church, recently celebrated member successes.
TOPS stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. On April 14, division winners from 2013 were recognized. For recognition purposes, members are in weight divisions determined by their first weight of the year. First and second place winners in division 2 are Lorene Bush and Donna Sherman; winner in division 3 is Diana Doyle; first and second place winners in division 4 are Diana Kemp and Sandy Mess; and men’s winner in division 2 is Mike Wachler. All six joined the club in 2013 and lost a total of 110.5 lbs. Nine new members joined the club in 2013.
While losing weight is difficult, keeping it off is equally difficult. Gloria Vermillion was honored for reaching her doctor determined goal weight and was reinstated as a KOPS—Keep Off Pounds Sensibly. All of the honored members are inspiration to the rest of the members who struggle with weight loss. TOPS isn’t a diet or an exercise program, but a support program for whatever discipline works for each member.
Our APRIL 28 meeting will be an OPEN HOUSE for anyone who would like to come check us out. Meet us. Experience a typical program. Meet and greet will be from 4:30-5:15. Program starts at 5:15. If you would like more information, call Membership chair, Linda McHugh, at (419) 946-9326.
