Mitchell Swonger, son of Neil and Misty Swonger, was elected as the District 6 State President for the 2014-2015 school year.
A 2014 graduate of River Valley High School, Mitchell was given a full day of intense interviews at The Ohio State University in April. The announcement of his election was made during the State FFA Convention held on May 2.
One of the responsibilities of a state officer includes visiting schools across the state of Ohio to motivate members to become involved with everything the FFA has to offer. He will also be responsible for attending four sessions of FFA Camp near Carrollton, Ohio. During the camp programs he will present leadership workshops, give motivation speeches and encourage students to reach their highest potential. Mitch will also serve on committees at the National Convention in October and help with the Ohio State convention in May, 2015.
Mitchell will be a freshman this fall at The Ohio State University where he will major in Agricultural Education and Agricultural Business.
His father is the Cardington FFA Chapter advisor.
