Thirty members from the Highland FFA spent May 1st and 2nd at the State Fairgrounds where the State FFA Convention is held each year.
This year at state convention, the Highland FFA received many awards for the hard work that our chapter put forth. There was one student that went above and beyond with his SAE and business that made it all the way to being a state finalist. Gaige Goodman was selected as a top four finalist as the State Star in AgriBusiness. He was recognized on stage, receiving a state plaque. The Highland Chapter itself also received recognition for supporting CROP/Church World Services and Children’s Hospital. Megan Oder was also recognized for earning a Gold rating on her Chapter Treasurer Book.
To conclude the convention, Tylor Cooper received his State FFA Degree during the final session. Tylor has completed three years of a SAE that involves raising market steers for the fair each year.
The chapter was excited to complete an outstanding year and receive recognition for their hard work and is excited about the opportunities that the next year presents.
