Joseph Elson, a 2015 Senior at Mt Gilead High School, has been selected to attend the Blue-Grey National Super Combine at the Pro-ball Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio. He was chosen after a first round of a regional combine held at the Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio.
As a junior, his football skills were utilized in the position of outside line backer and a partial season as a running back. For the defense he had 74 tackles, 11 for a loss and one sack. He scored 2 touchdowns on the defense. Offensively, he had 922 yards rushing on 149 carries with 8 touchdowns. He had 528 kickoff return yards for an average of 23 yards per return, with 1 touchdown. In addition, to his strong presence on the field, Elson is a vital part of encouraging team participation and helping to strengthen a united program.
“I am thrilled to have been chosen.” states Elson. He is excited at the prospect of being chosen to go a third round in the combine. If his performance is strong enough he will be in position to play in one of the Blue-Grey National All-American Bowls, played January 10th, 2015 at Raymond James Stadium home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or at the AT&T Stadium which is home of the Dallas Cowboys, on December 14th, 2014.
