There were a multitude of activities that attracted people of all ages when the Cardington Street Fair was held Saturday, June 28.


The village welcomed hundreds of visitors who participated in the events, many of which were patterned after the Street Fair of 1897.


Organized by the Friends of Cardington, they were assisted by many organizations and individuals who made this a day to remember.


Winner of the talent show was Colton Snyder with his rendition of a Michael Jackson performance.


Winners of the 5K run were Jacob Long, first Quinn Maceyko, second and Caitlin Thomas, third.


Winners of the car show were Cliffton Bay, 1970 GMC; Lloyd Dawson, 1965 Chevy Malibu; Steve Stawser,1964 Chevy Impala; Ralph Sickles, 1942 Hudson, Carol Elnck, 1952 Chevy; Nancy Russell, 1940 Chevy; Ray Cole, 1940 Chevy; Daniel and Bree Webb, 1957 Chevy BeLair; Shannon Lemley 1963 Corvette; Tim Conley, 1964 Mercury and Damon Cooper,1935 Chevy.


The Cardington Fire Department was the winner of the tug of war with the police department.


The committee thanks all who helped and/or sponsored this day of fun. A special ‘tip of the hat’ to Cardington Yutaka, who sponsored the Fireworks, which were spectacular and visible to all villagers. Other major sponsors were Morrow County Hospital; Ohio Health; Gompf Funeral Service; Consolidated Electric Corp., FC Bank, Cardington CIC, The Browns, Cardington Coin Laundry and Storage; First Federal Bank of Ohio; First Knox National Bank, Rob andSharon Hickson Family, Century Link and Krock Esser Engineering.

The Friends will be sponsoring a Halloween celebration in October and on December 11 will hold “Christmas in Cardington.”
