MANSFIELD - On Sunday, February 3rd, the Renaissance will present Peter and the Wolf, part of its 2013-2014 Teddy Bear concert series. This classic orchestral story includes the original music by composer Prokofiev, paired with a cute story adaptation from Renaissance Artistic Director Michael Thomas. The concert will feature the Mansfield Symphony woodwind trio, with Pamela Ellis on clarinet, Betty Roberts on clarinet/flute/oboe, and Jane Price on bassoon. Part of the Mechanics Bank Educational Series, the concert begins at 2:00 pm; doors open at 1:30. Thanks to the generosity of the Women’s Guild of the Mansfield Symphony, tickets for all Teddy Bear concerts can be purchased for a flat fee of $10 each at the Renaissance Box Office, 419-522-2726.
Inspired by the Kennedy Center’s family programming, the Ren Teddy Bear concerts are set up to allow children an up-close experience with symphonic instruments, live acting, and basic musical concepts. To provide the most engaging performance possible, the Teddy Bear series can accommodate only 100 concert-goers and their very favorite teddy bears, so these onstage seats fill quickly—grab Teddy and pick out your seats at mansfieldtickets.com! (Teddy Bears enjoy free admission for this series only).
