Due to the prolonged and severe winter, the Morrow County Job and Family Services will be offering a supplemental assistance heating program over the next 30 days. Beginning Tuesday February 18, 2014 through March 18, 2014 families with children who are under 200% of federal poverty guidelines are eligible (see chart below)

The PRC (Prevention, Retention, Contingency) cap for eligible families is being waived for the period of the program. Families who have already utilized or reached their limits are eligible for this supplemental heating assistance program. Families who qualify will be eligible to receive up to $750.00 assistance. They must have exhausted all other sources of assistance such as HEAP. A cut off notice is not required to qualify for this program. This assistance can be applied to any utility used to heat their home, (including wood, propane, heating oil, natural gas, electricity, etc.) or combination thereof.

This is a one-time program that will expire and be discontinued after March 18, 2014. Morrow County Job and Family Services reserves the right to suspend and discontinue this program at any time.
