The 21st annual Hearts for Hospice dinner and auction will be held on Saturday, April 12, at the Cardington-Lincoln High School.


Offering a variety of merchandise at both the silent and live auctions, the proceeds which include those from the buffet dinner, benefit the patients of Hospice of Morrow County.


The silent auction begins at 4 pm, the buffet dinner at 5 pm and the live auction will start at 5 pm in the Drouhard auditorium.


Tickets for the dinner, $12 each, and for the silent auction, will be sold at the door.


There will also be a 50/50 raffle and a bake sale just in time for Easter.


Conducting the live auction will be Craig Miley and Bill Creswell with helpers assisting.


The dinner menu, provided by Special Occasions, Upper Sandusky, will feature Marsala Steak Medallions - Apple Bourbon Chicken as entrees with garlic and herb mashed potatoes and bacon and cheese scalloped potatoes; home style green beans and glazed baby carrots with house salad/ dinner rolls, a punch fountain, coffee bar and assorted dessert buffet.


Once again, Elsie Wilson has created enchanting quilts for the benefit. The perennial quilter hand stitched a queen size quilt and a beautiful queen size square Rose pattern crocheted bed spread quilt for this event. Elsie has made 29 quilts during the past 18 years which resulted in sales of $27,743 benefitting Hospice. She has made six queen size bedspreads and 29 crochet table cloths during the past 18 years.


Early donations to the live and silent auctions include a painting by local artist Dorothy Houpt; unique art work by Betty Newcomer; an oak rocker made by B J Trainer; a Rum Rill vase by Frances Turner; five tones of limestone by Asphalt Materials; autographed sports items; an oak corner hutch by Mary Jane Vail; a set of miniature wood replicas of Morrow County by the Arnold Family; several quilts made by local women; a 26-inch Huffy Mountaineer Bike; an International Pedal Tractor by the Morrow County Antique Tractor and Equipment Association; an OSU basket with wine, etc. by Turner;; overnight stays at lodges; entertainment pieces and many more coming in daily. Hospice can be viewed on Facebook where many of the auction items can be viewed.


Prior to the live auction there will be special recognition awards made.
