Each year the debris from the old plants on the “Prairie Hill” needs to be cleaned away and this year some new plantings will be made. Anyone may work on this on your own time, but on Saturday, April 19, if you are there at lunch time, we will order pizza for everyone!


The Lion’s Club and the Community Center put together the egg hunt at the Mount Gilead State Park on Saturday and the weather cooperated beautifully. It only takes a few minutes for the children to scoop up the hundreds of eggs and many families stayed to enjoy the park after the hunt.


The latch was unfastened on the bird food container and raccoons must have had an all-night party in the birdblind recently. Their menu included half a bag of bird seed, several ears of corn and a couple of suet cakes. It would have been entertaining to see them in action, but what a mess they made!


A record number of “WEE” Discoverers met on Thursday to look for signs of spring and make pictures of pussy willows. This program continues each Thursday through May 29.


The Tomorrow Center in Edison is inviting the public to their History Day on April 17 at 12:30 PM. Students having been researching the time period of their school building and will be presenting their findings in different ways. The park was glad to assist with projects on flora and fauna.


April 26 is the annual Trash Bash and Hazardous Waste Collection day at the Morrow County Fairgrounds. The Sheriff’s Department will also be doing a med take back day at the same time.
