Summer is here! What a great time to catch up on those projects that seem so difficult in the winter—like getting your cat spayed or neutered!! On Tuesday, June 24, Spay & Neuter Abandoned Cats & Kittens, Inc. (SNACK, Inc.) and the Fredericktown Veterinary Clinic, Inc. will hold a low-cost spay and neuter clinic for pet cats, strays, and feral cats at the clinic, located at 156 Columbus Road in Fredericktown.

The community fix-it day for cats is a joint effort between SNACK, Inc. and the Fredericktown Veterinary Clinic as a community service to help reduce cat overpopulation. Space for this event is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Drop-off time for the event is between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. Pick-up is between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Pre-registration and prepayment is required. For safety reasons, each cat must be in his/her own hard plastic carrier or humane trap.

Registration forms are available at the SNACK, Inc. website at www.snackohio.org or by requesting a registration form by phone at 614-371-8996 and leaving a voicemail with address information. The special price of $25 per cat includes spay or neuter, a one-year rabies vaccination, and ear-tipping for feral cats. For an additional charge of $9, a special gift will allow SNACK to offer low-cost vaccinations. This is a one-time only opportunity.

Kittens are also eligible for the fix-it clinic if they weigh at least three pounds. Because of possible cool nighttime temperatures, cats and kittens must have a warm recovery area for at least 48 hours after surgery.

This offer is available only through SNACK, Inc. and applies to Tuesday, June 24 only.
