The Peddlers in the Park VIP sponsored event has grown into a full day event. Breakfast begins at 7:30 on Aug. 16 and vendors will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Stand-Up Bingo will be played throughout the day and a square dance will be held in the evening 7-9 p.m. Contact Gary Dilsaver at 419-768-1327 to rent a space.
August WILD Days will be Wednesday, the 6th and Thursday, the 7th, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Morrow County’s new wildlife officer will be a part of the program. All youth ages 3-13 are invited to come out to enjoy and learn more about nature.
New at the Nature Center is a leather backed turtle and two monarch caterpillars.
The libraries have had a science related theme for the summer and last week four groups of readers visited the park where they explored the forms of energy that make changes, movement and work happen. Fortunately, the sky was clear and the sun, our primary energy source was available for those sessions. The children popped corn, trapped air bubbles, watched animals move, made blue worms, saw solar panels work and tried other stations while asking: What happened? and What made it happen?
On Saturday, July 26 the Gleason Park just south of Chesterville was officially opened to the public and several people joined the Gleason family, the Morrow County Park District Board and volunteers, and the Morrow County Commissioners for the occasion.
