The Cardington-Lincoln Music Department presented its Spring concert Sunday, April 27 in the Drouhard auditorium. Giving their final performances of the year were the fifth-sixth grade, junior high and high school concert bands. Also performing were the junior high and high school choirs.
The bands were directed by Jack Boulis and the choirs by John Brehm.
The high school concert band performed four selections. Boulis awarded the first year members a “C” letter. Awarded were Katelyn George, Matt Craig, Ben Ebert, Nathan Gardner, Zach Goad, Cameron Longstreth, Chloe Patrick and Skylar Bowling.
Boulis also named Morgan Robinson as the recipient of the Outstanding Junior Award and Taylor Wheat received the John Phillip Sousa Award.
Robinson, daughter of Steve and Chris Robinson, has been a band member for eight years and during high school has played with the marching, concert and pep bands. Her favorite is the marching band. She plays the saxophone and trombone.
Wheat, a senior, is the daughter of John and Tammy Wheat. A trombonist, she has played with the band for eight years, performing with the marching, concert and pep bands. Her favorite is the concert band. She plans to attend The Ohio State University.
The concerts were part of the annual Ice Cream Social event sponsored by the Music Boosters.
