The NWCO fourth/fifth grade boys’ basketball team had a fine showing in late spring and summer basketball. In seven events, the team took two thirds, two runners-ups, and claimed three championships. The team was also a participant in the Ft. Wayne, Ind. Midwest Nationals from July 20-23 versus teams from Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, etc.

Team members include Amare Pedraza, Ried Jury, and Colten Weaver-Lampkin of Marion; Brayden Boyd and Luke Strine of River Valley; Jake and Nick Riedel, Will Heisler, and Grant Welsch of Jonathan Alder; Cedric Kemery and Mason Studer of Colonel Crawford; and Caleb Simonis of Hopewell-Loudon. The team is coached by John Riedel, Mike Myers, Adam Levering and Roger Jury.

The Steam program is expanding to both boys and girls teams in grades 3-4 to 8-9 for spring/summer 2015 action. The program runs drills throughout the year and plays in both fall and winter leagues as well. If anyone has interest in drills, leagues, etc., contact the Steam Program via director Roger Jury at 740-244-9236 or steambasketball@yahoo.com.
