Sports reporting procedure

Coaches of local sports teams in Morrow County are asked to submit results of contests (including statistics) their teams compete in to the Morrow County Sentinel. Results may be submitted in several fashions.

Coaches may call the Sentinel at 419-946-3010, extension #1807 or fax them to 419-932-6782. Results also may be emailed to either MCSsports@civitasmedia.com or roberthamilton@civitasmedia.com .

Cardington football holding pie auction Saturday

The 2014 Cardington-Lincoln football team will be holding their annual pie auction on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. New head coach Jerry Williams will introduce the players and auctioneer Wes Wigton will auction off the pies that will be homemade by each player.

The day will start off at 8 a.m. with a practice and team scrimmage. The cheerleaders will be holding bingo at 12:30 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. The football team will then have a potluck picnic at 4 p.m. for everyone interested in attending the pie auction. The public is invited to attend.

Northmor Athletic Boosters holding golf scramble

The Northmor Athletic Booster golf scramble is scheduled for Sept. 7 at Pine Lakes Golf Club. There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m.

Cost is $240 per four-man team. Deadline to register is Aug. 22

Kiwanis Club of Mount Gilead holding golf outing

The Kiwanis Club of Mount Gilead will be holding their first golf outing on Wednesday, Aug. 20 at Galion Country Club.

This will be an 18-hole, handicapped event that includes a cart, lunch, prizes and steak dinner.

Proceeds benefit Morrow County Student Scholarships and the Eliminate Project.

Central Ohio Knockouts softball tryouts are soon

Tryouts for the 2014-15 Central Ohio Knockouts fast pitch softball teams for 11U and 12U girls will be on Aug. 9 and 10 from 1-3 p.m. at Lincoln Park on Eagles Field in Marion.
