Boondocks Restaurant in Fulton was packed with NASCAR fans Friday evening as driver Ty Dillon made an appearance to greet fans and sign autographs.
Del -Mar Distributing and D.G Yuengling & Sons hosted the event with Boondocks owners Burgess and Sheila Castle and manager Brandie Castle-McDaniel. Boondocks was one of five establishments visited by D.G.Yuengling and Son’s District Sales Manager of Ohio, Scott McCance.
Brandie said she was made aware that Boondocks Restaurant was being considered for the event by her Sales Representatives, Brian Rhodes and Rob Keen. Scott showed up and interviewed her and some of her employees at the restaurant. Brandie was told if Boondocks was to chosen as the site for the event, that she’d hear back from them in a few weeks and that the promotions, signs, etc would be provided.
Brandie said later she received very nice letter which stated they were chosen mostly because their restaurant had very friendly employees and a good family atmosphere. Boondocks has 28 employees and more than half of them were able to attend the event. There were T-shirt giveaways, a 50/50 drawing, and drink tickets sold to customers for the celebrity to serve their drinks. All proceeds from the raffle went to The Wounded Warriors Project which helps thousands of injured warriors returning home and will help provide assistance to their families.
