Community Prayer to be held Friday evening for injured Highland student

A community prayer will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 at 6 p.m. for a Highland student who suffered serious injuries in a Sunday morning crash.Michelle Croy, organizer for the event, says Ryder Steck sustained life-threatening injuries and a community prayer is being held at the high school track. Ryder is on the cross country team and their first practice is Aug. 1. Croy says particpants will hold hands around the track and say a prayer in his behalf. Afterward, participants are getting on the football field and spell out Steck’s name.Croy says Steck was on his way to work July 27, 2014 when the accident occured. She reported he is on a ventilator (as of 2 pm Thursday) and in an induced coma.
