Mistakes cost Scots in loss

6 days 9 hours ago | | | Email

By ROB HAMILTONMCSSports@civitasmedia.comIn a close game, sometimes the deciding factor is what team winds up making the fewest mistakes. Unfortunately for Highland, while they played River Valley much more closely than their first two opponents, mistakes prevented them from breaking into the win column on Friday night, as the Vikings broke a 7-7 halftime tie to take a 21-7 win over the locals. The Scots committed a number of penalties which negated some promising offensive drives. Defensively, they were able to get their opponents into several long-yardage situations, but River Valley was able to find a way to convert them to keep possessions where they would eventually score alive.
