Early Tuesday truck accident on I-71 creates fuel spill

An early morning accident near the 142 mile marker on Interstate 71 in Morrow County resulted in a spill from a semi truck’s fuel tanks.Morrow County Emergency Management Director Joe Edwards said a northbound semi, driven by Rick Atlms, traveled off the right side of the roadway at 1:50 a.m., striking a clump of trees. Upon impact, both saddle tanks ruptured on the tractor, spilling approximately 90 gallons of diesel fuel.

A truck fire at an oil well off State Route 61 south of Mt. Public Safety Day shows many Morrow County emergency resources

Caitlin Duda, Chairman for Public Safety Day, was pleased with the number of families who turned out for the day Saturday at EMS Headquarters in Mount Gilead.
