Billionaire fossil fuel promoters ruin America workforce

To the Editor,I thought something was probably fishy when I saw the column in your Sept. 24 issue by someone from the Association for Mature American Citizens. As I suspected, it’s backed by the Koch Brothers, interested in stopping anything that helps ordinary Americans. The AMAC went after AARP, claiming it was a Communist/Democratic organization. This organization earned “[Liar, liar,] Pants on fire” ratings from PolitiFact for ads fu...

Fossil fuels vs renewable energy

Dear Editor,I write in regards to Mr. Johnson’s letter from the Taxpayers Protection Alliance in the September 3, 2014 newspaper, and other letters and articles of the sort that put a very negative name to alternative energy. But I ask for you to consider the flip side of...

I have a lot of folks question me about the status of honey bees. I have one simple answer; we have dragged our feet long enough on this issue. The honey bees must be saved or we face extinction. Simple answer…right? Then there are the folks who ask me the same question, then proceed to tell me the answer. One woman recently reported that the reason honey bees are disappearing is because beekeepers don’t remove the Apivar strips after two weeks, “They leave them on...
