More than two years has passed since the fatal accident that claimed the life of a local Chesterville area man. Today, the accused drunk driver convicted in his death learned how much time he would spend behind bars.Cory Jackson of Bellville was sentenced on Friday, April 18, 2014 in front of a packed courtroom by Morrow Common Pleas Court Judge Howard Hall. Jackson will serve 48 months in prison for the crash that killed 73-year-old Paul Nauman.In February, Jackson agreed to plead guilty to a reduced charge of Vehicular Homicide, a third degree felony and a first degree misdemeanor charge of D.U.I. Jackson caused a two-vehicle crash on State Route 314 on November 17, 2011 with a blood-alcohol of 0.18, more than twice the legal limit.


Jackson sentenced, fined in agg. vehicular homicide case

4/18/14 11:15 a.m. - Cory Jackson of Bellville was sentenced to 48 months in prison, a $10,000 fine and a 40-year suspended license in Morrow County Common Pleas court this morning. He received a sentence of 108 days concurrent with the 4-year sentence along with a $1,075 fine for driving under the influence. He was remanded to the Morrow County Corrrectional Facility after his sentencing.Details to come.
