The buzz at Edison Village Council meeting last Monday evening was all about the opening of the Edison Quick Stop Convenience Store the day before. Several had been in to sample their sandwiches and were impressed with their reasonable prices and tasty luncheon choices.After three and a half years being closed, the store opened last week and owner, Monica Rollins says they have seen a steady stream of customers every day. The store at the corner of State Route 95 and Boundary Street in Edison carries a wide selection of deli cheeses and meats along with sandwiches, fresh fruit, bread and buns, chips, ice cream, candy, cookies and beverages.

The 16th annual Mount Gilead Athletic Hall of Fame took place on Friday, February 7, 2014.A reception was held beginning at 6 p.m. with the induction taking place between the JV and varsity basketball game against Fredericktown. The inductee for the Class of 2014 was Lindy Rogers and the 2004 Golf Team was also recognized.
Fatherhood Program Director Alexandra Linder gave an overview of the program at the February meeting of the Chamber of Commerce. She spoke with enthusiasm about the program that is a department of the Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission. She works with fathers to develop healthy relationships with their children while also helping fathers develop tools that will bring economic stability for the family.
