Hack ready to coach MG girls

Wednesday, July 21, 2010

By ROB HAMILTON

After spending time as an assistant under many area basketball coaches, Tom Hack finally has his chance to take the head role.

Hack will coach the Mount Gilead girls’ team this year. Previously, he’d worked under Tom Presler at Northmor, Dave Coleman and Mike Barron at Mount Gilead, Roger Jury and Troy King at Cardington and, last year, first-year Northmor head boys’ coach Zach Ruth.

“I’ve been wanting a head coaching job for quite some time,” said Hack. “The nice thing is that I live in Mount Gilead and my kids go here.”

Hack looks at his tenure as an assistant coach as a positive, as he’s been able to learn from a variety of mentors.
