While poor weekend weather hurt the overall attendance a bit at the Ohio State Shoot, hosted by Cardinal Center from June 22-28, the multi-day event still brought in nearly 1500 competitors in 14 events.

A total of 954 people took part in Friday’s Rio Handicap to make that the most-attended event for the week, while 902 shot Saturday in the Polaris Singles Championship. To illustrate the effect of the rainy conditions, the numbers for the Rio were nearly what they were in 2014, while the Singles Championship had 200 fewer shooters.

The Ohio State Shoot had an increase in numbers in all three Tuesday events (Brant Snively Singles, Gary Sollars Handicap and Richard Granatir Doubles), as well as the Ohio Valley Veneer Doubles on Thursday.

Of the shooters attending the event, 899 were from Ohio. Neighboring states Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kentucky and Michigan also had decent-sized contingents. Participants entered from as far away as Arizona and Idaho.

The All Around and High Overall results are listed below. Results from the 14 events that were contested will be found online at morrowcountysentinel.com . Also online will be the results from SCTP trapshooting championships that were held in conjunction with the state shoot.
