Cardington defeated Elgin’s volleyball team on Tuesday in four sets by scores of 25-18, 30-28, 20-25 and 25-9.
Jordan Deskins picked up 14 kills and five blocks for the Pirates, while Gracie Rees added 27 digs and three aces and Marissa Hall tallied 24 assists. Paige Clinger finished with nine kills, while Kyndall Spires had seven and McKenna McClure added seven to go with seven blocks.
Highland Scots
Highland, the fourth-ranked team in Ohio in Division III, cruised to a 25-10, 25-13, 25-8 win over East Knox in a home match Tuesday.
Ashton Terrill tallied 12 kills, while both Kelsey Walters and Krista Walters added six. Taylor Belcher, Parker Steck and Bailey Santo all served four aces in the match. The Scot JV team also beat East Knox, while the freshmen opened the evening by defeating Mount Vernon.
