The Mount Gilead girls’ middle school cross country team took third place Saturday at Marion Harding when the COAL championships were held.

Allison Johnson led the team by finishing second in 11:52.8. Also, Emily Hanft was third, Olivia Millisor finished fifth, Auna Tack took 13th, Rebecca Staley placed 68th, Kaylene Brinkman ran 90th and Anna Marocco finished 124th.

In the boys’ race, the Indians were fourth. Brett Shipman placed third overall in 10:51.2 to pace them, while Kooper Keen was 12th, Colson Chapman ran 38th, Eric Mowery took 41st, Michael Snopik was 46th, Mason Kidwell took 54th, Turner Fitzpatrick ran 60th, Tyler Knight placed 74th and Phillip Emberg was 112th.

Northmor’s girls finished fifth, while the boys were eight. Leading the girls was Katy Blunk, who finished 22nd in 13:13.5. Also, Kendra Harvey was 25th, Kristie Wright took 32nd, Julia Kanagy ran 42nd, Kenadie Hart was 50th, Maddison Yaussy placed 73rd, Grace Hays took 74th and Olivia Bower claimed 128th.

Leading the boys was P.J. Lower, who was 23rd in 12:18. Also, Jack Sears was 24th, Carson Pletcher ran 25th, Austin Lewis was 69th, T.J. Diehl finished 71st, Zach Govani took 78th, Griffin Workman placed 80th, Marcus Cortez ran 94th, Ethan Branch claimed 106th, Matthew Kearns finished 107th and Dillon Amens placed 115th.

Highland finished sixth in the girls’ race. Camberly Schade finished 27th in 13:29.6, while Mia White finished 38th, Joanna Pauley ran 45th, Faith Geiger took 46th, Julia Pauley took 48th, Heather Ross finished 53rd and Haylee Price ran 133rd.

The Scot boys didn’t have a full team. Tucker Tague finished 11th in 11:37.6 for them, while Kaden Miller was 17th, Garrett Fitzpatrick claimed 47th and Trevor Young ran 101st.

For Cardington, the boys were seventh and the girls finished ninth. Mason White took fourth for the boys with a time of 11:05.3. Also, Miles Grooms was 26th, Legend Williamson took 33rd, Kaleb Meade placed 57th, Jim Hallabrin took 66th, Keian Reed ran 109th, Sam West placed 111th, Avery Longsdorf claimed 122nd and Evan Kyrk took 125th.

For the girls, Dana Bertke was 40th in 13:46.4, while Mikayla Linkous finished 41st, Bella Scurlock took 52nd, Marlo Young placed 66th, Maddie Brehm ran 70th and Mikaela Osborne was 134th.
