Cardington put up another strong offensive performance Friday in topping Fredericktown by a 70-43 margin.

The Pirates led 23-11 after the opening eight minutes and continued to widen their lead as the game progressed. They held a 39-21 lead at the half and outscored their opponents 31-22 in the second half.

Kynlee Edwards hit three three-pointers in finishing with 18 points. Both Casey Bertke and Paige Clinger finished with 13, while Kyndall Spires tallied 11.

Northmor Knights

Northmor improved their season record to 2-2 and moved to 2-1 in league play with a 47-26 win on the road against East Knox on Friday.

The Knights led 17-5 after the first quarter and continued to pull away, leading 29-13 at the half and 34-14 going into the final period of play. They would outscore the Bulldogs 13-12 over the last eight minutes to clinch the win.

Maddie Swihart hit four three-pointers on her way to an 18-point game, while Cristianna Boggs added 14.

Mount Gilead Indians

Sandwiched around their contest against Highland on Friday, Mount Gilead had a pair of non-league contests.

On Wednesday, they claimed their first win of the season by a 48-21 margin over Marion Franklin. No further information was available.

They then traveled to Ridgemont on Saturday and lost by a 43-24 score. MG trailed 11-5 after the first quarter and 23-13 at the half. They battled back in the second half to outscore their opponents 21-20 over the final 16 minutes, but could not erase their deficit.
