Highland surged past Heath in the second half to take a 45-42 win over Heath Monday.

Heath led 17-16 after the first and 30-22 at the half, but Highland dominated in the second half. They outscored their opponents 12-5 in the third to close within one point. The Scots then took the fourth 11-7 to finish on top by three.

Mack Anglin connected on three three-pointers and scored 15 points to lead all scorers, while Quin Winkelfoos added 11.

Cardington Lady Pirates

Utica pulled away from the Cardington girls in the fourth quarter to take a 58-50 win Monday.

The visiting Pirates led 14-12 after the opening period, but their hosts rallied to take a 30-25 lead into the intermission. Cardington got within a 38-36 margin after three quarters, but Utica outscored them 20-14 over the final eight minutes to win by eight.

Sage Brannon led the Pirates with 17 points, while both Kynlee Edwards and Casey Bertke added 10. Also, Kyndall Spires finished with nine.
