Mount Gilead outscored Fredericktown in three of four quarters on Friday to take a 67-54 win on the road.

The Indians led 19-12 after the opening period, but the Freddies battled back within a 31-30 margin by the half. However, MG took the third 17-8 and the fourth by a 19-16 margin to pull away for the double-digit decision.

Tyler Bland led the Indians with 16 points, while Austin Vanderkooi and Mason Mollohan both added 15 and Trevor McCoy scored nine.

Cardington Pirates

A ferocious fourth-quarter rally got Cardington past visiting Elgin by a 61-53 margin on Friday night.

Elgin jumped out to a 20-12 lead after the first quarter and led 30-19 at the half and 39-31 after three period of play. However, the Pirates scored 30 points in the fourth quarter to surge past their opponents and claim the league win.

Skyler Bowling led Cardington with 14 points, while both Devin Pearl and Luke McCarrell added 13 and Derek Goodman finished with 10.
