Northmor was eliminated from the softball postseason when host Liberty Union topped them by a 7-1 margin in the Division III sectionals.

Liberty Union tallied four runs in the first inning and never looked back in topping the Knights, who were held to three hits in the game. Andrea Weis hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to account for Northmor’s run.

Shelbey Lilly struck out three and walked one, but gave up 11 hits, in suffering the loss.

Highland Scots

Highland was edged in a regular-season game on Tuesday by host Big Walnut in a 3-2 game that was decided by BW getting a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Big Walnut scored twice in the third inning, but Highland got one run in the sixth and another in the top of the seventh to tie the score before their opponents finished the game with a walk-off run.

Highland only got five hits in the game, with Bridget Oder and Kaitlyn Carney both mustering two. Abby O’Bryant, who took the loss, had the game-tying hit in the top of the seventh.
