The Kenyon College Lords were one of just 34 NCAA Division III golf teams to be tabbed an All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. It was the second time in as many seasons that the Lords, directed by third-year coach Grant Wallace, earned the honor.
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team recognition a college or university had to submit the grade point averages for each player on its official roster for the academic year. The average of those grades submitted had to be a 3.00 or better in order to be deemed an All-Academic Team. Kenyon’s 11-man roster ended up cranking out a 3.42 team grade point average for the 2014-15 season.
One week ago, three Kenyon players were tabbed Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the GCAA. That trio included senior Alex Blickle, as well as juniors Jake Fait and Jordan Harlacher.
On the course, the 2014-15 Lords put together one of the best seasons in program history. The Lords finished nine tournaments with top-three placements, including winning back-to back tournaments at the end of March and the beginning of April. Additionally, the Lords claimed their second consecutive runner-up spot in the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship.
