There were 64 shooters when the annual Willard Beam Memorial Trapshoot tournament was held Sept. 13 at the Cardinal Center. Hosted by Johnsville American Legion Post 754, the event was sponsored by the Ohio American Legion. It is held annually in memory of Willard Beam of Cardington a lifetime member of Jenkins-Vaughan Post 97, Cardington.

Winners of Legion Trophies were: Randy Fidler, Brad Stumbo, Pat Rinehart, Ken Wagers and Tim Stumbo, the high five-man Team, from Post 509. They had a score of 438. Runner-up five-man team from Post 613 with a score of 431 were members Paul Baker, Jr., Dane Goin, Jimmy Nutter, Tracey McCall and James Nutter.

The high two-man team members, John Fritz and Adam Fritz, from Post 260 scored 187 points. Randy Fidler, Post 503, was high overall with a score of 95.

High Husband and wife team were Dale and Diana Beam from Cardington Post 97, with a score of 159. Dale is a son of Willard.

High lady with a score of 73 was Barbara Ball from Post 460. High child under 18 was Brandon Brooks, with a score of 94 from Post 460.

Mike McKinney, from Mt Gilead, and a member of the host post, won high 19-20 yard handicap with a score of 46. Other winners in that division were Dane Goin, Post 613, scored 47 with a 21-23 handicap and Adam Fritz, Post 260, with a score of high 24-27 handicap. High veteran 65-70 was Ronald Caldwell, Post 25 with a score of 92; high senior veteran over 70 was John Fox from Post 65 with a score of 85.

High parent and child were Mark Holmer, and Matt Holmer, Post 405, scoring 176 and High 16 yd was Billy Mizer, Post 65 with a score of 49.

Non Legion Trophies were won by Troy Dubois, Justin Carson, Travis Carson, Brandon Brooks and Seth Butterfield, High Youth 5 person team with a score of 427; Richard May was high 16 yd; Greg Tharp, high handicap and Robb Harper, high overall.
