Highland would bounce back against Mount Gilead on Friday, winning their first girls’ basketball game of the season by a 39-13 margin over the Indians.

The Scots trailed 5-3 after the first quarter, but took a 12-8 lead into the half. They would add to that margin throughout the second half, outscoring the Indians 12-3 in the third quarter and 15-2 in the fourth to pull away for the win.

Parker Steck tallied 12 points for the Scots, while Erica Sardinha added eight. Kenzie Fuller finished with a team-high 11 rebounds and also had three blocks.

Northmor Knights

Northmor defeated Fredericktown 48-28 in a league match-up on Saturday to improve to 2-1, 1-0 in league play. No further information was available by deadline.
