Mount Gilead was edged by Pleasant in the first round of the Division III baseball tournament on Monday.
The Indians gave up two runs in the fourth inning and one more in the fifth in suffering a 3-0 road loss to the Spartans. Hayden Somerlot had a pair of singles to provide half of the Indian offense. Gage Baker suffered the tough-luck loss. He struck out five and scattered seven hits and four walks.
