Highland opens VB season with win

The Highland volleyball team got off to a strong start in the 2024 season by claiming a 3-1 win over host Big Walnut in their season-opening match on Saturday.

In picking up a 25-15, 25-15, 21-25, 25-21 win over their hosts, the Scots received 41 kills, three aces and 10 digs from Kameron Stover. Larsen Terrill tallied 52 assists, as well as eight kills and 14 digs. Also, Reagan Maibach added 10 kills, while Georgia Gantz contributed 12 digs.

Mount Gilead Indians

The Mount Gilead volleyball team had a rough first outing to their season on Saturday when they traveled to Elgin and fell by scores of 25-6, 25-8 and 25-9 to the Comets.

Katie Oliver had an ace for the Indians, while Abby Leonhard finished with three blocks and both Faith White and Cassady Irwin had two each. Olivia Long recorded four digs.

Cardington Pirates

Cardington was upended by Northridge in their season-opening volleyball match on Saturday.

In the 3-0 win by the Vikings, they were able to top the Pirates by scores of 25-22, 25-13 and 25-13.
