Northmor girls first at home invitational

Northmor’s girls’ cross country team got its season off to a great start by claiming first place at their home invitational on Monday.

The Lady Golden Knights finished with 43 points to top the eight-team field, finishing 13 in front of second-place Fredericktown.

Northmor was led by Ryann Brinkman, who was fifth in 21:32.97. Natalie Hunter took sixth in 21:39.69 and Kate Lehman placed 14th in 23:27.11. Elizabeth Ruhl ran 17th in 23:34.48, while Veronica Kanagy placed 24th in 24:03.99, Macie Witherall claimed 26th in 24:17.85 and Haylee Walker ran 27th in 24:18.55.

Also, Maddie May was 36th, Katie Statler was 43rd, Shelby Cooper was 46th, Hannah Ambroise was 50th, Harley Barler was 57th, Ella Creswell was 62nd, Sarah Ambroise was 64th, Natalie Newman was 68th, Ella Albert was 71st and Kaylee Pope was 85th.

Highland was fourth in the race with 113 points. Braylin Romshak placed 16th in 23:31.05 to lead the Scots, while Kindylle Mallow took 23rd in 24:02.98. Riley Matthews claimed 30th in 24:43.48, Rose Green placed 33rd in 24:47.67 and Abbie Pruett took 37th in 25:05.69. Brielle Gilmore placed 39th in 25:11.94 and Chloe Bolton finished 76th in 29:10.19.

Also, Aubrey Kanagy was 79th, Karli Chamberlain was 86th, Addison Clever was 88th, Lizzie Beck was 89th, Emma Bolton was 98th and Mary Green was 100th.

For Cardington, who took fifth with 130 points, Magi Hallabrin ran seventh overall with a time of 21:42.83. Sydney Meade went 18th in 23:42.67, while Madison Garrabrant placed 44th in 25:19.04 and Alayna Seavolt took 47th in 25:25.53. Chessa Redman placed 65th in 27:42.28.

The 11-team boys’ meet was won by Fredericktown with 49 points. Highland paced the Morrow County teams by taking second place with a score of 99.

The Scots also had the meet champion in Matthew Miller, who won in 17:01.78. Cael Gilmore took 18th in 18:33.08 and Henry Spence placed 21st in 19:06.57. Ethan Harmon ran 32nd in 19:38.31, while Jayden Marcum finished 40th in 19:55.96. Caden Barsic placed 51st in 20:47.5 and Maddox Weiss finished 52nd in 20:52.23.

Also, Konner Blaney was 63rd, Carson Young was 78th, Ben Sorrell was 92nd, Micah McLeod was 95th and Jacob Bowen was 114th.

Northmor placed third in the meet with 116 points. They were led by Vinton Naylor, who took eighth place in 18:11.54. David Blunk was 25th in 19:15.5, while Levi Hunter took 30th in 19:30.15 and Owen Yunker ran 35th in 19:40.63. Dane Creswell ran 36th in 19:40.9, Carter Thomas took 45th in 20:24.34 and Ethan Amens ran 48th in 20:39.87.

Also, Anthony Schiebe was 50th, Markus Parsons was 55th and Elliot Wall was 56th.

For Cardington, who took ninth place with 230 points, Dylan Compton was 24th in 19:14.87. Brayden Alwood finished 61st in 21:25.58 and Riley Patterson ran 66th in 21:44.1, while Cohen Rammelsberg finished 67th in 21:47.69. Jacob McNichols took 88th in 23:29.5, Brayden Rammelsberg claimed 94th in 23:56.49 and Jaxon Ongalibang was 101st in 25:09.16.

Also, Danny Townsend was 104th, Thor Kovacs was 106th, Hunter Jones was 107th, C.J. Jones was 108th and Jacob Webb was 120th.
