Livestock shows are fair favorites

The crowd applauded enthusiastically for the exhibitors while more than 50 youth showed their calves in the arena Thursday morning and into the afternoon at the Morrow County Fair.

The judge, Scott Winkle from Adams County, kept the show moving with humor and a running commentary on each animal with tips on how each exhibitor could improve in their showmanship.

Other youth show favorites Thursday were the goat shows and Goat Costume Contest, Horse and Pony Western Pleasure, Sheep Breeding Show, Sheep Showmanship and Market Lamb Show.

Many enjoyed the Lamb Barbeque Picnic at the Sheep Barn at noon, while some took off to see projects for Food Fun Day. There was a pizza eating contest at 6 p.m., a Cote Winery dried flower class, followed by outhouse races and rough truck races in the evening.
