Hospital earns Auditor of the State Award

Morrow County Hospital has earned the Auditor of the State Award. The honor is presented to institutions having clean audit reports with no other questions or concerns. According to the Ohio Auditor of State’s Office, only 6% of all entities audited by their office receive this recognition.

“By keeping accurate financial records, governing bodies demonstrate their commitment to efficient, effective, and transparent service,” Auditor Keith Faber said. “This award honors public entities that have put in the hard work to keep their finances in order.”

Organizations that earn the award must file their submission by the deadline and have no concerns related to public records or finances.

“I am proud of our team for earning this recognition from the Auditor of State Office,” said Morrow County Hospital President Mike Hyek. “The work they do behind the scenes is not always easy and does not get a lot of public recognition. This award is a validation of their time, energy, and commitment.”

Scott Brown, regional liaison for the Ohio Auditor of State’s Office, presented the Auditor of the State Award to Morrow County Hospital Board of Trustees at last month’s meeting. It was accepted by Finance Director Jason Gates and Finance Manager Kelly Grube.
